Want some innovation inspiration for 2018?

I can hear a big sigh of relief from my community that says “thank God this year is over!”

As we wrap up a tumultuous 2017, a year marked by natural disasters, international tensions, and political division, it’s time to pause and reflect. Yes, that means it’s time to take a digital detox, walk outdoors, and spend time alone. This is your official “permission slip” to stop overdoing for a few more days, and just explore “what’s next?”

Just asking a few simple questions can help you feel excited and refreshed about the new year:

  1. What worked in your performance in 2017?
  2. What didn’t work in your performance (avoid focusing on circumstances often beyond your control, such as weather and politics)?
  3. What 2-3 themes will guide you in 2018? These may refer to a way of being, or your identity, that you aspire to in the coming year. For example, my 2018 themes are: authority, self-care, play, and leverage.
  4. What avenues of personal and professional growth will you pursue?
  5. With whom will you surround yourself?

  • Mark Levy (bestselling author, innovation guru, and my good friend)
  • …and several more.

May these quotes provide you with a shot of “innovation inspiration.” You can access the free PDF here.
