Video: Susan Weber Receives First Annual “CMO Beacon Award”

CMOs can often feel isolated and overwhelmed. And let’s be real: “going it alone” doesn’t work. That ranks high on the insanity list, along with trial and error and stoicism.

Finding a peer community of like-minded professionals makes the difference between success and burnout. Yet searching for that perfect peer group can be even more daunting than the barrage of revenue and technology pressures today’s marketing leaders face.

That’s why we wanted to shine a light on peer programs that WORK, and the people who make it possible. Late last year, we launched our first annual “CMO Beacon Award” at CLIC ’16.

A great CMO peer community begins with setting the intention of creating a safe space. In that space, we allow for innovation, problem-solving, and resource sharing to come alive.

This “safe CMO haven” is not possible without dedicated members such as Susan Weber, CMO of Walker & Dunlop.

We chose Susan as our first annual Beacon Award recipient. She received the CMO Beacon Award at our 2016 CMOs Leading Innovation Conference (CLIC).

Susan was selected among dozens of other CMOs in our private peer communities. She promotes shared knowledge and experiences, and models the traits of a strategic leader. In the midst of radical digital change, Susan stays present and purposeful.  As a charter member of our first CMO group, the Marketing Leaders of DC™, Susan demonstrates a long history of raising the standards for the marketing profession.

Here’s what Susan shared:

“I was honored to be the first recipient of the CMO Beacon Award. I am thrilled to be part of a community with people I admire and respect who are supportive and willing to give advice without judgment. If you are CMO or VP of Marketing looking for a community that is engaging, provides thought provoking content, lively discussions, and speakers who inspire, this is the place for you.”

We applaud Susan for her accomplishments, and look forward to her contributions to the Marketing Leaders of Atlanta™.
